College Majors?

Asked by jdarkangel11
I want to major in these Master of Business Administration Bachelor of Music (double) and also a minor degree in French. Is this all possible? I am currently in the International Baccaleareate Program so once I receive my diploma I will attend a college that will give me up to 30 credits, thereby allowing me to skip the first year...

Yes, it's all possible. It will take a while to do, but you can do it all at certain colleges (including the University of Florida, my school). First, for the Masters in Business Admin. I'm currently in a Combined Degree Program that allows me to take graduate level courses in my undergraduate years and count them for my BSBA and MBA (if I score a B or higher in the courses). You can't simply go for the MBA, you have to get the undergrad degree first and then be accepted to the grad school once you get the undergrad degree. As for the double major in Music, it is possible, but even if you're really good about taking a ton of classes (assuming 18 per semester) you'll probably spend 5 years pursuing the undergrad degrees (and combined degrees of course) plus the additional year of the rest of the graduate level classes you need for the MBA. I entertained the thought of being a Combined Degree BSBA in DIS/MBA in DIS with a General Theatre major, but when I saw it would add two more years of courses to my collegiate experience, I thought better of it. I advise you to look at the degree requirements for each at the college you wish to attend (or have been accepted to) and then weigh the costs/benefits of the additional major. You may then do what I decided to do: turn the desired major into a minor and save the time and money for courses.
