Private student loans?
I am in desperate need of a private student loan for $2000 so I can start school. Does anyone know of any companies that will approve you with not so good credit but with a co-signer? I have heard about sallie mae so please do not suggest them or you own private loan that you are wanting to offer. I would like a real company that will help me out in a bind.

Most banks offer private student loans. What you'll need to do is go to your university's financial aid office and ask them for a list of alternative loan providers. An alternative loan is what you take out in your name, sometimes with a co-signer, if FAFSA doesn't award you everything that you need. I've never had any trouble finding several places to apply for alternative loans. Like I said, ask your school or the bank of your choice. The advantage to getting a list from your school, if they have one, is that it will have a chart of all the different interest rates, when you have to start paying it back, etc, so you can compare them all. Most have online application programs.
