online degrees?

Ok, im a mother of two, just graduated high school, work full time but still want to get my associates degree. At first i was going to just go to school a couple days a week and earn like that. But now im concidering doing it online. If you have done this, please tell me the pros and cons of it.

That is awesome that you are going to pursue a degree! One of the first things you must understand about higher education is that it is a business. That means they are taking your money for a service. Most colleges and universities offer online courses so it doesn't matter much if you are at home or in a classroom learning. What does matter is if the institution that you are paying is accredited. You should definitly check out www.ope.ed.gov/accreditation/ for the schools that you are considering. This will help insure that the degree that you are paying for and working hard for will be worth somthing when you are done. You should also consider your learning style. Do you learn well by reading alone? Do you need teacher interaction? As for myself I learned a lot more from a classroom than I did from internet courses. Good luck!
