Are online degrees really effective?
Asked by Jill Anne AI just want to know why there are a lot of celebrities doing online degrees and a lot of advertisment from the yahoo and other search engines are seen about this online degrees. How is it done and how effective is it compare to an actual presence of a student in a university?

Good question and not one that can be answered easily. The validity of an on-line degree is based on a number of factors. It's good for someone who works full time, has a family to attend to and has limited time to actually attend a traditional in-class degree program. Market wise however, consider the viability of the degree and the learning experiences of the two. Given that all factors are equal and you have two applicants competing for the same position that requies an MBA, who will get the job... someone with a degree from an obscure on-line program or the graduate from a well known university? Why do celebrities do on-line degrees? Most likely for the sake of being able to boast to some celebrity magizine or talk show host that they have a college degree. Question is: would you trust a celebrity with any kind of degree to do your income taxes or teach your children?
