are SAT tests and IQs correlated?
it was a while ago my friend told me that the secret purpose of the SAT was to point out one's IQ. i highly doubt a stupid SAT test measures how smart someone is, but perhaps it may show how ready you are for college. many people i know who support the SAT as being an iq test have gotten high scores. the ones who score low say that it measures bullcrap. what is the truth about this matter? does SAT try its best to measure someone's intelligence level? Mensa does not accept SAT scores as a means of IQ these days. Stay current please.

The SAT used to be an acronym for Scholastic Achievement Test; it has never been an aptitute test, which would indicate some correlation between SAT and IQ. Mensa used to accept SAT scores (and will still do so if the scores are old enough) because the SAT did used to be a reflection of IQ, but no longer is that the case. My take on it all is that the SAT measures one thing and one thing only: how familiar you are with the SAT. That's really all there is to it. In that sense, though, it does kind of reflect how you'll do in college because doing well on the SAT means that you put in the time to acquaint yourself with this test and prepared and studied for it, skills you'll need to do well in college.
