Student Loans?

Asked by Agonistes
I'm a rising junior with no scholarship money anymore, and my savings are completely drained. I've been looking at student loans, but I just started a new job and have no credit right now, so i need a so-signer on my loans. My parents have already said they won't co-sign for me, and I don't have anyone else to ask. Does anyone know of any student loans for around $6000 that I would be eligible for without a co-signer? I filed my FAFSA on sunday. The problem is that according to my parents tax information, I'm not eligible for federal assitance because they made to much money. What the government is neglecting to realize is that my parents aren't paying for my college.

student loans through a bank and private loans and often require a cosigner and have higher interest rates, student loans through the US Dept of Ed are loans you get from FAFSA. No cosigner and lower rates. even though your parents income i high, FAFSA will still offer you unsubsidized stafford loans. Subsidized loans are loans offered to you on an "as need" basis. unsubsidized loans are what else you need. you will have an extreme difficult time getting considered an independant. you have to be married, have a child or be over the age of 25. Not living with, not speaking to or not getting help from your parents are not eligible reasons (i know, that sucks!) wait for your fafsa. see what theyoffer you.
