If you havewn't already, take you SATs. Also start applying to different colleges. For the admissions essay get a teacher to help you out and look over it because they'll have a better idea of what the admissions committee is looking for. What you should also do it consider where you want to go and factor in the following: Proximity: do you want to be close to home or far, instate or out or state. You have to factor in cost for out of state tuition and/or dormitory. Tuition: how much can you afford but don't let that limit you because loans are available. Don't forget to fill out the FAFSA which determines how much your parents should be contributing to your education and factors that in to how much aid you need. They could offer you scholarships (criteria based), grants (need based) and loans (which you have to pay back) Size: do you want to go to a big college/university or somewhere smaller. you may want to consider the teacher to student ratio. 100 students to every teacher doesn't provide for the best education Area: would you prefer an urban or more rural setting? It's also best to visit the school and see if it's somewhere you really want to go. I visited schools that though they seemed good on paper didn't really suit me Reputation: you shouldn't go by this alone but it may help you deciding where you want to go Majors/Classes: iyou want to go somewhere where they have courses you're interested and the major you're planning to do. A lot of information about different colleges could be found on collegeboard.com and ever fastweb.com (which also helps you find scholarships). You should also try to visit the colleges you are considering and ask them certain things (any questions you have at all) about their curriculum, how you could get involved in the school, if they offer any scholarships and so forth. If you have a question, ask. Good Luck :)
