What is an ALPLN Student Loan and can you consolidate those?
Asked by Sarah JWhat exactly does ALPLN stand for? I was wondering if you can consolidate those with the other major type of student loans, such as Federal Stafford Loans? Thanks!

i believe that would be a private/alternative loan. you can consolidate it, but it is based on your credit (like refinancing). sorry, i dont know what it stands for, as each company has their own name for their loans... what kinds of rate are you paying on it? if it is very high (13%+) then you should definately try to refinance it. nelnet's private loan consolidation #: 877.303.0523
