College Majors: Communications, Management or Poli. Sci?
I'm a freshman student at DePaul University in Chicago and I'm debating on what majors/minors to pick from. I like to write and think I'd make a good journalist but would probably like business management more for a career. I'd like to eventually get into politics (Senator?) but don't know which career path would work better for me. Is a Poli-Sci degree really necessary to get into politics? I'd like to double-major in Communications and Business Management (the latter because of internship oppurtunities in Chicago) and somehow find my way into politics, but get a steady career first. So, out of these three degrees...how would one suggest I stack them (Major in one, double-minor in the others; double major and skip one, etc.) Political Science Communications & Culture Business Management

When it comes to politics, most politicians get a law degree or a business degree. Bush has an MBA, the first president with one, but the majority have law degrees. Political Science degree and then going into law school is a common education goal. I like the double major in communications and business management. If you are able to run an organization and communicate well, you could make a pretty good mayor.
