Am I safe in assuming that most college dorm rooms have a microwave or microwave access?

Asked by sas
It's been a long time since the dorm room with the "hot pot", and if I am sending a care package to a college freshman, is it safe to assume they have access to a microwave to cook soup, or noodles - in - a -carton, popcorn, etc? And are homemade cookies still welcome? thanks for any input! Thanks everyone! I'd better get baking!

usually one of the roommates will have brought a microwave, or if they don't have one in the room, there is almost always one in a kitchen somewhere in the building or on the floor. odds are that someone on the floor has one, too. cookies are ALWAYS welcome. even if the student doesn't eat them, they make great bribes for the techie that comes to fix the computer
