Do college essays and extracurricular activities affect admissions to UCs largely?
Asked by matt gI have about a 3.5 gpa and 1600 SAT... haven't written that great of an essay nor done much in the community.

While essays and extra curriculars do play a part in admission factors, I think its mostly based on grades/scores. The essays are there so they could pick out the students who are on the borderline. But it's definately good to have extra activities and leadership positions as someone has said.
