Not sure which college to go to?

Asked by Aaron
I know I'm pretty much in at George Mason, not 100% on Virginia Tech though...but hypothetically speaking if I got into both I'm not sure which one I would want to go to George Mason has the most awesome program for neuroscience, and the professor in charge is like 3rd or 4th in her field according to my boss. I'm thinking that this would be very beneficial seeing as this is the field I want to get into (either as a neurologist or getting a PhD in the field) The downside is that GMU does not have the best reputation for being a very academically advanced school. But Virginia Tech is more prestigious and the name may be an asset when it comes to applying to medical school or graduate school (but it doesn't have a BS in neuroscience) I dunno what would you do? Unlike a lot of GMU's applicants, I don't live close to the school (about 3 hours away actually) Yes I KNOW that you don't need a BS in neuroscience to become a neurologist. But it's just what I want to major in.

Forget about the name go to the school that has the best program for you. If GMU has the best program for what you want to do that is were you will get the best education and GMU is a very good school. The program that was the most challenging is what will be looked at when applying for medical school. Don't pick a school based on it's name so many students do that. Pick the school for the right reasons and you will find you made the right choice good luck.
