What classes do I need before specialized Veterinary college?
Asked by AristesMy options are limited right now. I have a local college, Odessa College, and a university, University of Texas in the Permian Basin. What classes do I need specifically in order to think about attending Texas A&M? I know I need a good GPA to even be considered, but will it hurt that I had to get my GED? I plan on getting my basics done at Odessa College and then applying for grants to go to UTPB since the classes are more advance and they offer a Vet Tech program, so I'm sure they have more than the community college. I want to focus on math, biology, and science as I hear it's best, but specifically which classes? What extra classes can I take to get a leg up? It's time I take control and get out of my rut, but I just don't know where to begin.

Ok if i understand correctly, you will take classes in Odessa and later transfer them to A&M towards a Veterinary Biomedical Sciences degree? In which case this is what you need to do Familiarize yourself with A&M Transfer Guidelines: admissions.tamu.edu/transfer/getting_in.aspx Familiarize yourself with the Biomedical Sciences catalog: www.cvm.tamu.edu/bims/curriculum.shtml Get in contact with A&M Registrar office and discuss with them your plan. They will tell you which courses at your local colleges will be able to transfer towards your degree. admissions.tamu.edu/registrar/ good luck! and don't worry about the GED :)
