should i aim for a community college or a state university?
i have a 3.5 GPA, im in colorguard and NHS, in a bunch of clubs, a lot of community work, and i didnt take my SATs yet. im going to this year. im kinda lacking in extracurriculars though. my weighted GPA is a 4.5. someone told me u have to have a GPA of 4.7 to get in a good state college. im aiming for UT austin. its a really good university and extremely hard to get into. and a community college would definately accept me. but, how bd i a community college?

Whoever told you that you need a weighted 4.7 to get into a good state university is either a fool or a liar. Your GPA is good enough to get you into nearly any school -- even selective private universities. If you can get a high SAT score and write a good admissions essay, you can certainly get into UT. Princeton Review has a tool where you enter information about your interests and background. It then gives you a list of appropriate colleges for you. The link is below.
