It really depends on what you want to study. The University of Alaska system is the most known and has the most students by far, and has the most courses. Alaska Pacific University is very small and is a liberal arts college that’s most well known in Alaska for its Psychology courses and Environmental Studies. The University of Alaska has three campuses. They are: -The University of Alaska Anchorage (in Anchorage) -The University of Alaska Fairbanks (in Fairbanks) -The University of Alaska Southeast (in Juneau) So I would stick with the University of Alaska. I have family that are attending all three UA schools and they enjoy it. They have really good Profs and lots of student organizations. I've been to both the UAA and UAS campuses and they're very clean and well organized. I’m contemplating going to The University of Alaska Southeast because it’s in Juneau which is closest to where I live. But UAF is the schools flagship campus and has the most endowment, however UAA has the largest student population, but it’s in Anchorage so that’s expected. But both of the schools you listed are in Anchorage, so I am guessing that’s where you would like to go to school. If so I would go with UAA. Good luck. Edit: Since you want to study Psychology, UA or APU are both good choices for you. They're all good schools. It really depends on what you are looking for. APU is really, really small. Like under 1000 students. And it's affiliated with the Methodist Church, so it is a religious institution. Whereas the University of Alaska schools are really large and have a lot of students, about 35,000 total, and it's a state run school. To be honest, in my opinion, I would go with one of the schools in the University of Alaska system. I just think they are better, more well recognized, and have awesome and well educated professors. And there is always something to do on campus. And the psychology department is great. And it is the aim of most Alaskan high school students to get accepted into the University of Alaska, so that says something itself. But in the end it is your personal decision. But enjoy Alaska, the Last Frontier! Be sure to take a look at the Psychology department for each school: Anchorage - www.uaa.alaska.edu/psych/ Fairbanks - www.uaf.edu/psych/ Juneau - www.uas.alaska.edu/socsci/disciplines/psychology.html APU - www.alaskapacific.edu/depts/py/
