My Stats! Would any UC want me as their student? I lagged it and now regret it horribly.?
I'm attending East Los Angeles College and I've lagged it while attending. I don't think any college would want me w/ the grades I have. Here are the college level classes I've taken: Sociology - A Political Science 1 - A Political Science 7 - A History 11 - A Health 11 - A Music 101 - A Theatre 100 - A Speech 101 - A English 101 - B (honors) English 102 - B Meteorology - B Political Science 2 - C (let's not go there...) Art 102 - C (honors) Philosophy - C (honors) Humanities - C (honors) I took voice and choir classes and got A's and one B, i believe. My major is political science and my cum. GPA is a 2.9 (with every other class that i've taken included) i don't know my exact transferable GPA. probably a 3.3/2 those classes that I got C's in could've been A's, but as I've said, laggin' it sucks... i now regret it. I'm not the brightest when it comes to math, so i took two remedial math classes and got a B and a C. I still have to take Stats (which i dropped this semester 'cause it was too much w/ work and stuff) Last semester I was sent a SCholar's club application from our school to join the program. This past fall semester I got this from UCSB: Dear :and here is my name:, You recently received a letter from Alfred Herrera at UCLA about options for transferring to the University of California. We wanted to follow up on this letter and congratulate you on your academic achievements. If you are wondering, it was your community college that identified you as someone who demonstrates the hard work and dedication needed to succeed in college and beyond. They also shared information with us about your college record that shows you may be eligible to apply to transfer to the University of California for fall 2008. If you are considering transfer to UC Santa Barbara and have questions, we would be happy to assist you. You may contact us at transfer@sa.ucsb.edu or (805) ***-****. If you are applying to UC for fall 2008, here are a few things to consider: • You may apply online at www.UniversityOfCalifornia.edu/apply during the November 1-30, 2007 application filing period. • UC has a new web site that provides detailed information about the nine undergraduate campuses and the programs they offer at www.UCTransfer.org. • Learn more about specific major preparation requirements at www.assist.org. We wish you the best of luck in achieving your academic goal. Please let us know if we can be of assistance. Sincerely, Transfer Services UCSB Office of Admissions 1234 Cheadle Hall Santa Barbara, CA 93106-2016 would any university, a UC, STILL want me? i wanted to go to UCLA, but it now seems impossible. would i have to settle for a cal state?

Hold on. There is something that I am having a hard time understanding. The whole time you were at ELAC, they never told you about the transfer options? I know that transferring is completely up to the student but have you ever heard about TAG (transfer admission guarantee)? All you needed was to keep up a 2.8 GPA to gain guaranteed admission to most of the UCs. You have only listed 15 classes and I don't know if they are all UC transferable. You need at least 60 units by the time you start at a UC. You really need to talk to someone at the transfer center. Make an appointment asap and have your entire transcript ready.
