I am 20 and live in PA, and trying to enter college, but will have to go online. I am researching, but I cannot find a top university here offering online degrees - NOT just classes - in Computer Science / Computer Information Technology. I want to stay in-state to bypass the out-of-state tuition, but it is getting troublesome. Please help - tell me where to look or (preferably) tell me schools you already know are doing this. I DO NOT want Univ of Phoenix / AIU Online / the like because it's too much hassle trying to make sure there are completely legit and acceptable in the career world. And before you say go to a brick-and-mortar campus, I have a son and pregnant with my 2nd. I am looking to work and go to school full-time. Financially, I don't have the means to do both simultaneously, but I strive for my degree. My mom couldn't afford to send me to college but I still want to make her and myself proud.

Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, Drexel and Tiffin U all offer degrees online. But none of them offer bachelors degrees in CS online. CM does offer a certificate in software engineering online. Drexel, however, offers a BS in Computing and Security Technology, which is the closest fit I can find for you in PA. I'll link to that one, below. But Drexel is not a public uni, so you don't get in-state tuition. Only a Penn State type school would work like that - a public uni. So realising that maybe no public unis in PA offer online BS CS or anything related, I started looking elsewhere. These are some reputable non-PA unis that offer related degrees: - U Maryland offers a Bachelors in Computer and Information Science. - Cal State Chico offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. - University of Hawaii offers a Bachelor of Arts in Information and Computer Sciences - NYIT, via their Ellis College, offers a BS - Computer Science (Distributed Database Systems) and a BS - Computer Science (Internet Engineering) Of those, U Maryland is the most highly ranked, NYIT probably the lowest ranked, but all are universities that have solid offline presences, and all are regionally accredited. None have a bad rep with employers. And like U Hawaii, U Maryland is a state school - a public uni - and although you won't be eligible for their in-state tuition rates, often even out of state rates at public unis are lower cost than private unis. Worth looking into all of these.
