Football Career + Anesthesiologist Career = POSSIBLE?
I'm just wondering how one would go about being an anesthesiologist and a football player in the pros at the same time, I mean...football is a lot of time and so is...medical school and all, right? I think Allen Iverson (basketball player) had a similar 'thing' like this...because I remember the fans being mad he choose to do schoolwork over a basketball game or something. Anyway, is it possible? How would one do that? I mean, I'd think...after 4 year college one would go play football...then after go to medical school and continue the medical career? Or is it possible to like...I don't know, I know after med school you get put on the market or something but they want like full-time people that's what being a doctor is all about. That + Football = what? Please and thanks in advance!

Medical school is a FULL TIME JOB. Residency is TWO FULL TIME JOBS at the same time. If you want to take a break to play football, go for it. Your fellow residents aren't going to be thrilled if you run off to play games while they take up the slack. Your residency director isn't likely to approve it, either. You'll want to do the football thing BEFORE medical school. Once you've invested 4 years and a lot of money in a medical education, you're not going to stop it to play football.
