Masters in IT at Harvard Extension School?
Hello all I am just about to graduate college and I needless to say have had a few rough paths through college and didnt get the best experience I wanted. My GPA is around the 3.0 level, but I want to go into Technology Consulting for a top company like Booz Allen Hamilton, Bearing Point, Accenture etc. I figure that my 3.0 from the Univ of Delaware might not be enough so I was thinking of going to the Harvard Extension school for their Masters in IT. My question is, will these top level consulting firms respect a great GPA (if all goes well) in a Harvard Extension School Masters program? Or is there a better route to get into these firms. I have done some research on HES and think it is a great program and am willing to make the move to Boston.

To be completely frank, I don't think an MS in IT from HES is going to get you into IT consulting for those firms. HES has a rep as a not very competitive school with some employers. I don't know if this rep is deserved or not, just that it exists. I'm not sure it's a fit. In addition, they'll want you to have had at least two years of work experience in IT before you went for your masters. I know this because, when I came out of grad school, I was hired at DBM and other firms in IT consulting. They want you to have a couple years experience, plus a good quality masters degree with a high GPA in both your undergrad and your grad work. Since your undergrad degree is okay but not fabulous, you'll need to make up for that with the work experience and the quality masters degree. I'm not sure HES is good enough. Do you know anyone who is working at one of those companies? I'd like to have you discuss this with them.
