Would this get me into medical college?
Asked by Breamarie91If I major in Biology, would this get me into medical college to become a Medical geneticist (somebody who works with people who have genetic disorders)? Or should I got into the degree described on this page www.alverno.edu/academics/pre_pro_studies.html (Preproffessional studies, which I'm assuming would be pre-med) OR can would I be able to do both because my sister is doing Nursing/Pre-med? Thanks in advance, I hope my question makes sense.

Pre-med, in and of itself is not an actual major! Pre-med just stands for math and science courses that are more likely to prepare you for entrance into medical school after you complete the required amount of credits in your major and your general education core requirements. Most students who enroll medical school have first majored as an undergraduate in Biology, Physiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or Nursing. However, you can major in anything you please- even history if that is up your alley. What matters is that you get all of your necessary math and sciences done. What you could do is major in Biology and be assigned an advisor in the pre-professional/pre-med programming at that school.
