Does anyone here know if it would be a good idea to go to a broadcasting school?
I've always wanted to be an announcer or dj for a radio station and I was thinking about enrolling in a broadcasting school, however I was wanting to know if anyone has experienced this type of school and is it really worth it? They say they offer job placement assistance at the American broadcasting school in Oklahoma and Texas but I want to get somebody else's opinion on the matter. If you know anything about this school or any other good ones please, please let me know, thank you very much in advance!!! P.S, the school said that there job placement rate is at 85%,they seem pretty legit.

I am an actual graduate of American Broadcasting School. I went both the traditional route of college and trade school, and I have found that now being in the business for more than 10 years my ABS training has provided me with opportunity for success than sitting in a college classroom. Not to mention the lifetime job placement assistance they offer. That, if you ask me is invaluable in the line of work! There is a lot of broadcasting school’s out there, so make sure the one you attend is Nationally Accredited! American Broadcasting School is and is the only one of it’s kind in Oklahoma and Texas! They also have federal financial aid available. If you do not know the difference between “financial” and “federal financial” aid, then look it up! Bottom line is this, ABS is a great school, with great staff (I still keep in contact) that has given me many opportunities in the radio biz, and I am thankful I went that route. Good luck with what you decide!
