Med school without a college major in science?
Dr. Andrew G. Frantz, Associate Dean for Admissions at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons says, "Medical school is all about science- and nothing but science. But college is a time to be educated, complete human being, a time to read Shakespeare and Plato and Cervantes." The magazine I pulled this out of also says that your chances of getting into med school is equally good if you don't choose a science-related major in college. Is this true? If you have any experiences to share, please post them as well. Thanks!

Yes it is true. My wife majored in Theater and is now about to enter year four of medical school. Now that doesn't mean she could just get in without a science foundation. She had to take the appropriate coursework, such as Organic Chemistry, but she has a degree in Theater and not Biology or Chemistry.
