Can I get a college Scholarship if i have a famous relative?
Asked by Cody LBasically im wanting to know if there are any college scholarships out there for people who are related to Andrew Carnegie. I am a distant relative of his, on my mothers side of the family. I know he was known for being extremely generous and dontated most of his money to helping higher education and such. Ive tried searching on the net, but havent come up with any resluts.

Go to fastweb.com. That site lists all sorts of "weird" scholarships. Things like "left-handed Jewish violin players from Nebraska with only 3 toes" . The amounts might not be much, but there a lot of them that go begging because nobody knows about them. My son and his friends each averaged 5-6 scholarships or grants per year using this site. Biggest any of then got was about $500.00, but all those little $100 and $200 grants added up. Kept me from having to pay for his five years as an undergraduate and four years doing graduate work. NOTE: This is a free site. No fees, no asking for personal information. Type in something like "5th cousin of Andrew, twice removed" or whatever the relationship was, and see what comes up. Type in other stuff also. Basically, go fishing and see what you catch
