Will my high school GPA and/or ACT scores affect my acceptance into UIC Medical school 4 years from now?

Asked by wiltzandrew1989
I am a senior. Current GPA is 3.25, but I am taking two AP classes and an Honors class, so I expect it to go up marginally. My ACT score was 20, because of a few problems made that morning, and also due to the fact that I studied VERY hard for it a year before the retake, and the results were not accepted because we took the Writing before the Math. Anyway, can these numbers affect my acceptence into UIC Medical School or ANY school, after 4 years of Pre-Medical at UIC College of Liberal Arts & Sciences? Could I have worked very hard for 4 years in Pre-Medicine, gotten my BA in Medicine, and then not be accepted into UIC Medical School because my high school scores and records were bad? I'm planning on taking the joint M.D./PhD program for Medicine, and then taking the joint J.D./PdD program for Law afterward, then running for Cook County Coroner a few years after. -Andrew wiltzandrew1989 on Yahoo! Unless you're applying for those special 6 or 7 year medical school programs, your high school transcript is not relevant. Med school looks at what you have accomplished during your college years. So, don't worry about it, get into college, do very well, and best of luck applying into med school.
