Is Argosy University good for doing a Doctorate in Business?
Asked by B W LornaI am considering doing my Doctor of Business Degree at Argosy Santa Monica Campus. Is this a good university. Is it recognised?

Argosy's main campus in Chicago is accredited. The for-profit school is relatively new - formed in 2001 by merger of three other schools. There was a horrendous stink a few years ago when a person awarded a PhD was accused of plagiarism - Argosy refused to accept the charges and disciplined the accuser, later recanted and withdrew the PhD, and then subsequently reinstated the PhD but made the candidate write an entirely new doctoral "thesis." [not a dissertation?] Is it a good school? you ask. It is too early to tell. I have a question for you - California is loaded with outstanding, well-established universities. Why would you risk getting a degree from a school that is new, has some blots on its record, is mostly online anyway, and may have no credibility when you are trying to get a job?
