The 'colleges' which you are referencing are con-jobs designed to prey on people with low GPAs, and/or had been in special ed...etc. They only take money and issue pieces of paper which are academically worthless (were not accredited by the appropriate places). They are not degrees...So stay away from them if you are really serious about wanting to attend a college and earn a degree. Because legitimate colleges honestly do not care if you had an IEP during high school. They cannot and would not deny you admissions merely because you had an IEP during public school. They are only concerned with your being able to successfully complete their level of academic coursework, which would have to be rigorous. They CAN deny you admissions if that IEP did not prepare you to successfully perform college level coursework---curriculum cannot be modified under college-level accommodation laws. Since colleges can pick and choose their student body, they do admit students with disabilities who were enrolled in special education but had obtained the standard high school diploma. But they deny enrollment to applicants who lacked a diploma/GED Because obtaining a college degree is not mandatory in America, special education rules of accommodating all disabilities and all severities of disabilities no longer apply in a college environment. A different set of disability laws get activiated for the admitted students. Now the standard is only reasonable accommodation of an otherwise qualified person with a disability. You either successfully complete the standard college level curriculum or you do not earn your intended degree. And the college/university admissions office says that admission requires completion of a standard high school diploma (as opposed to a certificate of completion).
