PCC or Skyline college?

Asked by p0oh
Hi, I have a dilemma. I'm still deciding whether I want to go to PCC (Pasadena City College) which is down in Pasadena, LA. or Skyline College in San Bruno, CA? I'd like to transfer to UC Berkeley and I'm majoring business-finance. So, any persuasion or advice for me whether I should go to PCC or Skyline? THANKS.

Hi: There are many good schools in the area, and which you choose depends on many factors, but there are several advantages to attending Skyline. Students love Skyline for several reasons: Convenient location, low cost, availability of programs and comprehensive program offerings, flexible scheduling, innovative programs and a student-centered environment. Students think Skyline is very warm and welcoming. 62% of Skyline students list their educational goals as to transfer with/without AA/AS. From 1997 to 2007, Skyline transferred: • 4,435 students to the CSU system (Primarily San Francisco, San Jose, Hayward/East Bay, and Sacramento) • 722 to the UC system (Primarily Berkeley and Davis) Skyline offers Transfer Agreement Guarantees (TAG) programs with UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, UC Merced, as well as CSU East Bay, San Jose State, Golden Gate University, and Notre Dame University. UC San Diego will offer TAGs to Skyline students beginning in Fall 2008. These agreements enable qualified students to complete their freshman and sophomore years of college at Skyline and be guaranteed admission to these campuses as juniors one year prior to transfer! Students also transfer to other private and public universities. For more info on transferring from Skyline, see www.skylinecollege.edu/sts/transferCenter/service.html. Good luck!
