like ucla or berkeley.... but i live in ny.. and my grades range from 70%-90% most being b's.. how big are my chances getting into one of these colleges of california?

Honestly, your chances are not so great unless you are really talented in a non academic area, such as music or sports. The least selective UC school is UC at Riverside, but the average incoming freshman GPA for that school is still a 3.6, at least for students coming from my school. My advice is to apply to one of the lower UC's or higher CSU's, and then attempt to transfer after your sophomore year in college, or for your graduate program, if you plan on going that far in your schooling.
