My daughter is Junior and got a 26 on ACT and has a 3.4 gpa. She is wanting to become a forensic sientist and is willing to work hard. She has no college savings and would rather not go into great debt yet she is not really interested in going to community college. She will not have vehicle so needs to go to school where there is public transportation available. She has shown interest in Dordt college in Iowa and Bethany college in Kansas. Has anybody out there had great experiences with either one of these colleges that they would like to share?

She should think about a public university. With the exception of Catholic universities, very few universities sponsored by Christian Religions have good academics. There are a few Protestant sponsored schools like SMU and Pepperdine that are exceptions (neither in your geographical area). There are also a few Lutheran Sponsored schools that are decent. I know of some in Minnesota -- but given that one of the major synods is headquartered in Missouri, there could be some there, too. But private schools are expensive -- and if she wants to be debt free, public universities are her best bet.
