I'm trying to get advice on a preference between two colleges (I'd prefer a more informed, mature answer rather than "just pick the one with the best parties") One college (Blackburn college in Carlinville, IL) is in my home town (of about 6,000 people), very small but with an amazing biology program (my major and the professor I'd be under got "professor of the year for Illinois" in 2001) and they'll be getting a new science building my first year too, only downside is that my dad teaches there, and he'd be teaching a lot of my classes and it's kinda in the middle of nowhere with not much to do. The other college (Emhurst college in Chicago) is the perfect size with the perfect environment, but their biology department isn't quite as good. It's also rights next to Chicago so I could go home easily and they have amazing programs for world travel and stuff I want to do. - Oh also, Elmhurst would cost me about $8,000 a year and Blackburn is free (perk of being the teacher's kid) If you have any counseling experience or experience in the situation, I like to know Thanks!
