Bob Jones University?

Asked by wildchild
I have heard a lot of rumors from people regarding this school, and I want to know which are true and which are just rumors. If you actually GO to BJU then can you tell me some of the rules you had trouble ajusting to? Some spesifics would be: music, panty hose, leaving the campus, and sandles in the shower. I am from the west coast so I know that it will be a HUGE culture change for me, but I want to have some time to prepare myself for whats to come.

I didn't go to Bob Jones but I know of the school. I have lived in the Carolina's all my life but I'm not sure I would recommend the school. I've not heard anything good about the school. Of course, I haven't heard anything bad. Bob Jones has a lot of strict rules, at least that is what I have heard. Going from one part of the country to another will be a culture shock for anyone. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The south has the southern hospitality. There are going to be all kinds of things going on when you go off to college. It's going to be a big adjustment no matter where you go. You just have to figure out what works for you. It may take some time to get use to but you will eventually find a way to get what you need out of school. You'll find that most schools have issues with music. Well, the loudness of the music. I would recommend wearing flip flops in the shower no matter where you go to school. This is important because you don't want to get athelete's foot. I don't know about the leaving campus part but I am sure it's pretty sure that it's not something happens. Panty hose, well, it may be found on the campus or any campus but it wouldn't be unusual. If you are interested in going to a religous affiliated college or university on the east cost I would recommend Brevard College (www.brevard.edu/). It's a small, private, Methodist affiliated college in western NC.
