I'm interested in studing the basque language and culture because my last name came from that language and it's so inturiging , the problem is there isn't any universitys in san diego yet alone in California that teach Basque. So I search, It's down to 2 universitys -University of Nevada, Reno & -Boise State (Idaho) I'm not sure which one , My brother doesn't recomend Reno however there is a special program for students who live in the western part of the U.S that reduces the tuition in half. My senior year in high school is starting after this summer. I want to Major in either in history, forgin language or Linguistics both universities offer basque studies as a minor so i'm not sure which university suits me better, Thanks

I'd say Boise State. I like Idaho a lot better than nevada. I've been to both states. It is wonderful that you are pursuing your language passion. You are right about the dismal language course selection in San Diego and all of California. It is rather disappointing.
