Alright, here's one I can really help with. Step 1: Contact the school's admissions office, or, better yet, stop by. Pick up (or request) an application and a catalog, at the very least. Ask them which transcripts you'll need. Depending on how many credits you took at the technical schools, you may only need your college transcripts. Take the application home and fill it out, or, if you're technologically inclined, most 4 year institutions will let you apply online. I still advise contacting the admissions office though. They have tons of valuable information. Step 2: Request official transcripts from the Registrar's office of your past schools. You can either have them sent to you or directly to the school (the admissions application should have a mailing address on it. Send them there). I recommend sending them directly to the school, since, in order for them to be official, they need to arrive UNOPENED. Therefore, if you have them sent to you, DON'T OPEN THEM. I can't stress this enough. If you open them, they're no longer official, and you'll have to request them again. Step 3: Contact financial aid. You may want to wait until after you've been accepted for this step, as some financial aid offices can't really help you until you're in the university's system. They may just tell you to fill out the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov/), but a good financial aid officer will point you toward some other possible resources. www.fastweb.com is another good place to look. Step 4: Set up an appointment with an advisor. Once you've been admitted, contact the Psychology department, and ask to speak with an advisor. They should set up an appointment for you, and they'll help you set up your class schedule. You can also ask them about any departmental scholarships that may exist out there. That's really all there is to it. If you have any questions at any point, contact the Admissions office. They may not have the answer, but odds are that they know who does. Good luck!
