Bringing my car with me to college in Boston?
I am going to Boston College obviously (nearby) Boston, but not right downtown. Should I bring my car with me to Boston? It is a nice car, Range Rover. But what will be the benefits of bringing it? Not bringing it? Also, I will be getting a job in Boston. So take that into consideration. Thanks so much!

Boston has great public transportation. But having somewhere to put your car in Boston is a problem. It really depends on where you are going to be living. Actually it depends on if where you will be living will have free parking. I have been to Boston many times and have never found the need for a car especially a nice one. There is no where to ever park there and you will end up paying more to park than you would pay to rent a closer place to live. My best advice would be to check out the city for just a week and then make your own call. You will most likely find that the car will be way more trouble than it is worth and if you want to take a road trip to New York with college friends you are probably better off renting a vehicle that is good on gas. I hope this helped. You will see that you can get parking spots for a month at a time in some places but it will run around $300 and you still won't be anywhere close to where you actually have to be. Cars are often broken into there and stolen. Really think about the hassle before taking it there.
