what does it take to transfer to duke or boston college?
How do I go about transfering-or trying to transfer-to Duke University? What grades are needed, when do I send the application, and what other than grades can I do to enhance my application? Can I transfer after my freshmen year in college?

In order to transfer into the top schools, you have to have better credentials than the incoming Freshman. I don't know how many transfer students Duke and BC accept. But Harvard and Yale only accept about 30 students out of hundreds of transfer applications. Stanford only accepts about 20 students from onver 1300 applications. Princeton accepts no transfer students at all. I suspect that Duke accepts very few transfer students. BC probably accepts more, but not very many either. I think that you will need straight As (or close to it) and an SAT score of 2200+ to be seriously considered at Duke. Even then, the odds are against you. You can transfer after your Freshman year. They will not accept more than two years of credits.
