Schools rarely publish this kind of information. The Mathematic and Statistics department graduated ten students last year. If we assume a 50% dropout rate, that would mean that they take in about 20 students per year. If we assume that 2/3 of those who get accepted enter the program, then they accept about 30 per year. I doubt that they get more than a hundred applications per year -- so that puts it at about 30% as a conservative estimate. The only statistic that I can tell you for sure is the finance department at Berkeley. The year I applied, they had 250 applications, accepted nine and got six. The next year they had over three hundred applications, accepted four and got four. You can use this as a low band.
