Bowdoin College?
Asked by bosox2312I have a question about Bowdoin College. What type of students do they accept? What type of grades do you need to have? What does it take to get in? This is the website if your not sure what college I mean: www.bowdoin.edu/

Bowdoin is a highly selective, highly-ranked liberal arts college in Maine. Small student body, small classes, great professors, etc. You need excellent grades. I believe Bowdoin might be SAT-ACT optional (look at www.fairtest.org) but if you want to you can submit standardized scores, plus SAT Subject test scores, etc. Presumably your AP test scores should go to them, too. Anyway, certainly Bowdoin wants intellectually-curious, high-achieving types who will contribute to its classes and student body. Get (or read in your school or local library) the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2008... there are several pages written about the 300ish schools discussed in the book. You'll have a pretty good handle on Bowdoin, as well as what schools "overlap" with Bowdoin, etc. You may also want to read A Is For Admission, a book written by a former assistant dean of admissions at Dartmouth.
