How do you think the following universities measure up: Brandeis, Wellesley, Tufts, Northeastern?

Asked by Anna E
How valuable to you think a degree from there is? If you attend/have attended there, what was your experience? What is your opinion of the school in terms of prestige? Please don't quote collegeboard.com, etc. What about Wesleyan, Boston College, and Emerson as well?

In the northeast, these schools rank, reputation-wise, as follows: - Wellesley - Tufts - Brandeis - Northeastern Outside the northeast, and outside academia, Brandeis is less known. But it's a highly competitive school. Wellesley is highly prestigious. It's a former member of the seven sisters, and still has a reputation, deservedly so, of educating the elite. It's a very strong school. Beautiful campus as well. Tufts is also a strong school, but a notch lower in prestige than Wellesley. It's in the suburbs, but close enough to Boston that you can take advantage of the city. Brandeis is also in the suburbs, but feels a bit more removed from Boston than Tufts does. Northeastern is best known for its tech programs, and its co-ops. It's an up and coming school. It used to have a so-so rep, to be honest - maybe 15 years ago, it was considered just okay. But it's made great strides in recent years. So in terms of prestige, it's no where near the other schools you mentioned. But it's a strong school, and good in tech. It's right in the city, feels very urban, nice location.
