I heard that pre med at Brandeis University is extremely difficult.... almost impossible. Is this true?

Because I want to go to Med School and I'm afraid that if I get too low of grades due to the rigor I won't get into Med Schools. I'm smart in science not a genius but excel in the subject pretty well (I've gotten an A- in honors bio in high school and a B+ in Honors Chem.) Please answer!! Thanks.

I agree with the other poster--don't fixate on one school, you can get into med school from a variety of great schools. On the other hand, the better/stronger/tougher the premed program, the better prepared you are for med school, the better you will do on the MCAT, and the better your chances will be for getting into medical school. Med schools are very aware of the quality and difficulty of different colleges, and do take that into consideration. The premed courses are all basic courses, and if you can't handle them (even at a "tough" premed school) you're going to have trouble handling med school. (For an example, at my med school we covered an entire semester's worth of an undergrad cell biology course in the first 3 days.) I know it seems daunting, but if you have your heart set on going into medicine, I'd pick the stronger/more challenging program. It seems you're good at science, and you'll know going in that you'll have to work hard (and frankly, being prepared to study and actually work is the key to doing well in these classes). Brandeis has a great program, and people seem to generally be happy there (both academically and socially)....I'd go for it.
