Does it matter where you get your degree?

Asked by Jason Saint
im looking into aviation managment, I live on long island and Dowling College is known for its aviation program, however in their curriculum they do not teach aviation managment majors how to fly (plus i want to go away to school). On the other hand, Bridgewater State College in MA teaches you how to fly in their avation management curriculum and although its like 45 mins away, id like to live in Boston, but the thing is the have no reputation at all and some of my friends in boston havent heard of the school. My question is will reputation matter? I know Dowling has a great repuation in the aviation field. What do i do? Will it really matter where i get my BS in aviation management from?

Reputation and quality of the classes will count. People are more likely to higher someone who went to Harvard then someone who when to a Community Collage even if they completed the same courses. It makes them look better.
