Would I be considered a strong applicant for medical school?

Asked by .
Graduated from Brigham Young University in 2001 with... B.S. in Biochemistry Overall GPA 3.45 Science GPA 3.36 Graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 2005 with... Doctorate of Chiropractic, summa cume laude Overall GPA 4.00 Science GPA 4.00 I've been in chiropractic practice since 2005, but would like to change my career to the medical profession. I just feel that I could make a bigger difference in people's lives there, as well as enjoy greater job satisfaction and personal growth. I haven't taken the MCAT yet, but after looking at a few sample questions it doesn't look like it will be too terrible if I review for it adequately. I know these numbers aren't everything when it comes to getting accepted into medical school, but I know they do carry a lot of weight. Can anyone tell me what my chances of getting accepted might be, based on the information provided? Thanks.

I think you are a good candidate. It depends on the school you are applying to of course. They want to look at your grades, which are decent. Work experience, and the fact that you have been praticing in a chiropractic office seems to fulfill that. You need to look for some people, at least two, to write you some outstanding letters of recommendation. Also you need to really dedicate yourself to the MCAT, and I believe if you get a good score on that then you are set.
