Will someone compare Bryn Mawr College to Mount Holyoke College for me please?

That's pretty much it, the usnews ranking is from 2006 and it's the only ranking I trust, I'm lost (again).

I went to Bryn Mawr and can tell you a lot about it - I don't know too much about Mount Holyoke though (other than it's one of the seven sisters and a good school). Bryn Mawr was founded in 1885 and is one of the elite seven sisters. It continues to be an all-women's institution at the undergraduate level. Many qualities of BMC are similar to other comparable liberal arts colleges: focus on the liberal arts education (training well-rounded, complex thinkers), great faculty-student ratio, excellent faculty who serve as mentors, outstanding opportunities to participate in college life, phenomenal medical, graduate and law school admissions/success rates, and prestige of the degree to name just a few. However, there are several things that set BMC apart from its peer institutions: traditions (more on that below), recently ranked number 1 on Washington Monthly's list of liberal arts colleges (these are alternate rankings completed to measure "how well colleges and universities serve the public interest by fostering research, an ethic of national service and social mobility," rather than the typical US News ranking strategy), absolutely beautiful buildings (it was ranked number 1 on the princeton reports "dorms as palaces list" in recent years), option to live on campus all four years, and excellent food (also on the top princeton review list). This list is certainly not exhaustive, but captures some of the top things that make BMC different. Traditions: Bryn Mawr has a very strong history of traditions. Students participate in parade night every fall to celebrate the first day of classes, lantern night to welcome frosh to campus (all freshwomen receive a lantern in their class color, which symbolizes the passing of knowledge from sophomores to frosh), hell week in feb (to officially initiate frosh to campus...think of it like being oriented to a sorority - BMC doesn't have sororities, because it's entire student body is like one large sisterhood), and May Day in the spring. There are several other smaller traditions as well...I suggest checking out this link for more details: www.brynmawr.edu/activities/traditions.shtml Feel free to email me with any questions, and good luck! :)
