Would you consider it a demotion to go from a state university program of study to a 2 year community college?

Well here is the thing I am a dropout of the bachelors in business administration program of the University of New Mexico. I am thinking of going back to school now after so many years but this time in an assoicate degree in nursing program. Also I might attend a college like Central New Mexico community college or some medical career institute. Would that be considered a demotion to go from a university to a college of the latter mentioned? Basically I will be going from the "Harvard of New Mexico" to one of the techy schools.

I understand where you are coming from but it doesn't matter if a school is considered the "Harvard of New Mexico" because it cant possibly have all the programs you need to study what you want. Its not a demotion but a switch to a better program. An associates is better than nothing. And if you want to continue on with a bachelor's you still can with night classes. The more education you have, the better. Go back to school, keep your head up, and good luck.
