Will I be able to receive ANY kind of student aid if I go to college in Georgia's Dalton state from CA?
If you don't mind, I'd like to know if I can receive student Aid, if I travel to Georgia from California. Currently a Senior in my High School, Charter Oak, and would like to travel to GA. I have something close to a 3.0 but more than a 2.5 GPA. 17 Years old, going to be 18 in a month, getting my license before 18th birthday. Looking to take up nursing (good money). I would like information for an individual looking for a college financial aid in GA traveling from CA, not aid/colleges in CA. Requirements? Possibilities? Difficulty? Anything said for this topic that's of use would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

First of all, may be able to get help through the federal governments by completing a FAFSA application. Need-based financial aid is available to all students no matter if they choose to study in a different state to where they are residents, providing they demonstrate a need for financial assistance. If you have already enrolled or have been accepted at a college in CA then the college will help you complete your FAFSA application and advise you on what federal grants and loans you may be eligible for. If not then you can complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov Also, because you plan to study nursing, there are other opportunities for grants and scholarships that you may get from the government, and even from your college... there may even be financial assistance available through both CA & GA state governments as there is always a demand for nursing. The following website link has some good information about Nursing School Grants, where to find them and how to apply www.schoolgrantsresource.org/Nursing-School-Grants.html You should also visit this website: www.aacn.nche.edu/ ,
