Who's a good wise person for a 8th grader to wirte about to get into a science summer program???????????????
Asked by musichick243I am hoping to get accepted to a Clarkson college based summer science/ math program... I got accepted last year but it's harder to get into this year.... Who's a wise person to write about!?!?!?!

my favourite scientist and a personal hero to me is the late Carl Sagan. Look him up - he helped popularize science and scientific education, and believed strongly in the importance of teaching people to think critically, look for evidence and not accept whatever they were told. He was an astrophysicist and astronomer who was involved in NASA in the 1970's and 80's. He wrote some amazing books including the novel "Contact" which was made into a movie starring Jodie Foster, and he had a great documentary series called "Cosmos" in the 1970's. I bet you could see some on YouTube. He died in the late1990's Good luck!
