The majority are on the east coast, which is what I am looking at the most. A lot of people have told me that I have too many safety schools and not enough matches.

Those make sense with your credentials, but asking for more in a "similar location" is tough because the ones you gave are spread all across the U.S. EDIT// With your update, that's not a bad list. Some of those are pretty good schools. You do have a lot of public state schools on the list, so you could try looking at private schools or smaller schools (Amherst, Hampshire College). If you're on a limited budget, though, the list you have is perfectly fine, especially if you apply to all of them. You'll get into enough to be able to pick well. Also, make sure you visit a school before you choose it. You may find that a school you didn't really love before suits you perfectly when you visit, while a school you loved just isn't what you expected. It's better to find that out before you confirm than to find out a year into your college career. A school's prestige isn't necessarily as important as what you get out of it. Unless you're at an Ivy League school, the place you got your degree doesn't matter all that much outside of a very few select fields.
