Anyone go to Colby, Holy Cross, Bates, or Middlebury colleges

Asked by Ginger O
If you go to or are an alum of any of these schools, I'm looking at them and would be interested in hearing what you have to say about them, what you like, dislike, etc. Also if you got in within the last 3 years or so, any insights on the application process and what you showed the college that you think made them want to accept you... Thank you so much college stuff is looming...

Holy Cross is a very small community of similar people. Upper middle class mostly of Irish and Italian background. Warm community of engaged students. The school is about the size of a high school (2700). Many HC students go on to graduate school eventually. Something like 80-90 percent eventually go on. Very small classes typically 10-18 students in a class and no grad students teaching. There are numerous clubs and social activities on campus and volunteer opportunities. A Holy Cross degree is widely respected among employers because they know that it is impossible to get through the school without working very hard. HC is 40 miles to Boston and Providence and the school provides free shuttles to both cities and local Worcester malls on Fridays and Saturdays.
