what's the best mid-atlantic engineering college?
I'm a senior in high school and am having trouble deciding which college is the best fit for me. I'm looking at electrical engineering as a career, but might possibly move on to computer hardware engineering depending on if i like it in college or not. I'm from Pennsylvania so the obvious choice seems to be Penn State but i'm not sure I want to go so close to home. I'd rather move a bit more south i think. As for academics I'm pretty well set with a 3.8 unweighted GPA and hopefully a 1400+ on math/verbal SAT ( I find out nov 2, its 1350 right now) I know Maryland is a good school but with the extra out of state tuition does anyone have any idea how much more I'd likely have to pay. Also if anyone can accurately judge how much I'm likely going to have to pay for college (extremely hard to guess I would imagine) I'd like to hear that. I'm hoping to get maybe half my tuition in merit scholarships. So im asking for a good school engineering or expected offer. Out of characters

Lehigh is a superb engineering school, but must be wickedly expensive. I'm guessing it's not south of you, either. Have you thought about Virginia Tech? Another fine engineering school, with the geographic location you desire. The military academies all have good engineering departments, but you have to love the military lifestyle to do well there.
