What is College of Charleston like? Been there, know someone who's been there?

I'm considering going to CofC for college, but I don't know a whole lot about it, since there's really only so much you can find out online, or through Princeton Review, haha. I'm NOT looking for a school that is all about partying, that has a lot of closed minded people, or where the school work is waaay too easy. I AM looking for a school with a fair amount of somewhat liberal minded students/professors who are actually interested in being in school, but are laid back and do still party sometimes (students... not profs!). Would CofC fit me? Any info would be so helpful! THANK YOU!

The college is very unusual in that two thirds of the 10,000 students are local or from South Carolina. It has a world class reputation and a full set of course offerings while maintaining a local atmosphere. The University used to offer a classical education and still has a thriving liberal arts core even though it became part of the State College system. It is now a full fledged university in its own right. ********************* ********* ***** *** ** *
