Where is a college with a surveying program, or something related, near Charleston, SC?
Asked by brerabbitI'm looking for a 4-year college, or maybe a 2-year. I have some transferrable credits I think. I tried civil engineering, but I just couldn't do it. Columbia's not too far away, just something near Charleston.

You want to Find an ABET accredited school that offers Surveying or Geomatics. (Different words but same programs) From the Abet website the following schools are available in the SouthEast. Unfortunatly surveying programs can be few and far between there are only 25 accredited programs in the country. Here are the schools ABET shows for the Southeast, along with the type of degree offered BS for Bachelors and AS for associates, and the year the school became acredited. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- East Tennessee State University Johnson City, TN Surveying and Mapping (BS) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- University of Florida Gainesville, FL Geomatics (BS) [1986] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Greenville Technical College Greenville, SC Geomatics Technology (AS) [2002] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Southern Polytechnic State University Marietta, GA Surveying and Mapping (BS) [2006] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In my personal opinion surveying/geomatics is a much more rewarding career path than civil engineering but I have friends who like to argue that point. One other option that I know of is Metropolitan State College of Denver Denver, CO Surveying and Mapping (BS) [2004] They offer a Distance education program, so it may be something that you want to look into.
